Global warming is set to have significant impacts on climate in the UK throughout the 21st century. Rates of precipitation and evapotranspiration in the Morland catchment are likely to change, having knock on effects on hydrological functioning within the catchment. The MCIS_V1 model is capable of modifying its precipitation and evapotranspiration inputs in order to model changes in the catchment's hydrological functioning.
Users can modify precipitation and evapotranspiration model inputs with ease, but it is recommended that users first consult the UKCP09 website for realistic projections. UKCP09 is a met office service explaining climate projections and how the UK climate is set to change in decades to come.
